Senior Design Engineer - Underground Structures (Mining)

Assist project managers in the successful delivery of projects by managing own involvement in projects, including time, budget and quality control Occasional project-based travel and site work, working away both in the UK and overseas; the frequency and duration of this will depend on business and client needs Carry out business development activities including preparation of technical proposals Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to other team members Working in a collaborative way, supporting intermediate and senior staff, to achieve project goals Display a 'safety first' attitude in line with an interdependent health and safety culture, promoting a positive health and safety attitude Reporting into the Mining Business structure, the primary focus for the Senior Design Engineer within the Underground Structures Team includes project delivery and direction, provision of technical expertise in engineering design, business development, understanding and maintaining our existing key client relationships, training and mentoring of junior staff and active development of new client relationships and opportunities in line with our strategy. This role is predominantly within the mining business, with the potential to also work with other sectors, including global infrastructure. As a team we are responsible for the design of undergrounds structures associated with mining projects, civils and utilities schemes, transport tunnels/structures as well as general ground support solutions.
