A little more about your role Meeting the requirements of a Senior Electrical Engineer grade and have a proven track record in delivering projects for your discipline and in line with client expectations. Work in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team providing design and technical advice in a WSP project manager capacity on a wide range of projects. Reviewing design programmes and ensuring that sufficient resource is available to complete the works inline with technical and commercial performance and delivery. Able to work using initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role. Able to work under the clear direction of the client and interpret the needs of the project as a whole to meet the full delivery needs. Promote WSP's capabilities and expertise in the region Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function. Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study for the project. Having North East project experience and client sector knowledge is beneficial. Have the ability to engage with clients, contractors and design team members in technical discussions, co-ordination and debates. Have an ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively to both construction professionals and client teams. Have a detailed understanding of the regulations applicable to the discipline and how to demonstrate this through calculation. Have working understanding of latest electrical design software packages to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects. Have an understanding of working with Revit MEP or other 3D design software to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects. The team has Electrical Engineers and REVIT technicians which can support with the majority of the Electrical delivery. Working knowledge of BIM360 is becoming a key collaboration review tool for work stream reviews and prioritising tasks. The Philharmonia is looking to appoint an experienced and inspiring Head of Education & Community Engagement to lead on the day to day running of learning projects, with a firm focus on developing and growing this work. With a proven track record of creative leadership, innovation and producing high quality music education and community projects, successful applicants will be led by a passionate belief in the power of orchestral music to transform lives, whether as audiences or participants. Centred around our ambition to deepen our engagement in our residencies in and out of London, this role will be responsible for the creative and strategic development and execution of both our long-established programmes (like Hear and Now, and Orchestra Unwrapped), as well as co-creating and developing new, innovative projects addressing real needs in schools and community settings. The role will have a strong direct connection with our Community Boards, the advisory bodies in our residency areas, and the Music Hubs, as partners and co-creators. Candidates should have a progressive and well-informed approach to place-based and grassroots music-making and project creation, and a strong understanding of the latest developments in the music education landscape. Combining a keen grasp of participant needs, with sound understanding of commissioner and funder requirements, as well as a can-do, entrepreneurial attitude, this is a great opportunity for a senior manager to progress to the next level of leadership within the sector and shape the education and community engagement programmes of a leading orchestra. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning: Undertake research and mapping as required to ensure that projects and programmes respond to local and regional needs and is distinctive and complementary in the context of other providers. Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) design for land development projects; Assist with developing projects and services which support climate change reporting, resilience and adaptation, including nature-based solutions; Participate in and direct multi-disciplinary project teams on local, regional and international consulting projects, so they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to client and WSP's standards. Your role in elevating the East Midlands We fundamentally believe that the green industrial revolution offers new global opportunities to our region and have ambitious plans to decarbonise and introduce innovative carbon capture initiatives. Your role will lead the development of the programme that enables this, including strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, project management, and ensuring that all programs align with our sustainability goals. In this role an understanding of 'growth' is as important as an understanding of 'green'. We need to attract low carbon jobs, investment, and innovation to the region and you will connect these and other initiatives to help facilitate both sustainability and economic prosperity. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implement comprehensive green growth and net zero projects and programs that align with the organisation's mission and objectives. • Oversight of the delivery of projects and programmes through a mix of internal and commissioned projects, for example Local Area Energy Planning and Retrofit. • Identifying and securing funding opportunities, including grants, partnerships, and other financial resources to support green growth initiatives. • Carrying out energy project assessments and utilisation of wider team expertise to generate compelling business cases; project values can exceed £20m • Developing and managing strategic relationships with key stakeholders including National Grid and Cadent Gas and other important strategic regional organisations. • Supporting key partners in the development and delivery of an investible pipeline of projects, including projects of regional and national significance, furthering the Net Zero ambition. • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of green growth programs, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with best practices. • Preparation and presentation of detailed reports on program progress, outcomes, and impact to senior management and stakeholders. Your profile: • Relevant degree or equivalent experience. • A proven track record of success in Net Zero project delivery and green initiatives. • A strong background in environmental sustainability, project management, and leadership • Evidence of being able to set up and run multiple, largescale projects at speed in challenging or complex stakeholder environments. • Evidence of building strong, collaborative, and enduring cross-sector partnerships. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
