KG Direct Hire are assisting with the recruitment of a Health and Safety Advisor for a Colchester based business. The role involves travel to our client sites/facilities across Essex and London.
The job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen with Saint Safety for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our ever-growing team.
This proactive role will include providing support, advice and guidance on site to ensure a safe working environment. You will be responsible for implementing safe systems and procedures, carrying out audits and a high volume of site inspections. The role involves travel to our client sites/facilities and provide pragmatic, approachable and excellent service.
Duties to include;
- To provide our diverse client base on all H&S related topics and work closely to assist on their legal obligations.
- Provide clients administrative support where required such as risk assessments, method statements/safe systems of work, Accident Investigations
- Provide support with pre-qualification questionnaires, accreditation coordination and support and other ad-hoc administrative tasks
- The role will include CDM/Principal Designer advisory support to our existing client base which covers pre-construction information development, contractor vetting, duty holder notifications, F10 applications, on-site monitoring and support through to collation of H&S files and O&M manuals.
- Supporting clients with PQQs and tenders
- Risk assessment and method statement creation
Skills/Experience required:
Essential
- An approachable and reasonable approach to H&S
Desirable (not essential)
- Relevant H&S Diploma, NVQ or Degree. May consider candidates with a certificate/ qualification currently working towards one of these qualifications with relevant on site experience.
- A member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH ? Tech/Grad and CMIOSH or working toward).
- Competence in incident and accident investigation.
- A minimum of 2 years experience working as a Health and Safety Advisor.
- Strong understanding and up to date knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, guidance and best practice.
- Valid UK driving license.

- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to prepare formal written reports and publications
- Confident with most IT based software's ? Email, Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint.
