As part of our continued drive to improve services for people living in Hampshire with Learning Disabilities, and their carers, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Social Worker within the community learning disabilities teams in North Hampshire, located at our hubs based in Basingstoke or Eastleigh. These are high performing, highly committed and extremely supportive teams. Exceptionally, this post attracts a specific retention bonus equivalent to £750 on appointment and a further £750 on the successful applicant s sixth month s anniversary in post.

In this role you will support people with learning disabilities to gain greater independence to meet their outcomes. Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, informed by the values and principles of social care; you will be supporting in the delivery of person centred, safe and effective social care services.

You will have a passion for delivering positive outcomes, in addition to an ability to recognise problems, identify solutions, resolution and negotiate situations. You will also need to have Proficient IT and have good literacy skills.

As a qualified and experienced Social Worker or Senior Social Worker, registered with Social Work England, you will need strong interpersonal and organisational skills. You will need to travel independently across the county to meet with individuals and carers to assess needs, formulate outcomes and undertake reviews using a person-centred and strength-based approach, designed to provide meaningful choice and promote wellbeing. You must be able to work autonomously, prioritise your work and respond flexibly to competing demands.

An excellent working knowledge of legislation and current policies is required. Social Workers in the team are required to undertake various duties to include; assessments under the Care Act 2014, mental capacity assessments, reviews of funded care and safeguarding work.

Due to the nature of the role you will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire, and it is essential that you have a current drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.
