Job title: School Business Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000k per annum

Location: London

We are looking to appoint a School Business Manager from April 2023 at Oakfield Preparatory School.

Oakfield Preparatory School was established in 1887 and joined Education Development Trust in 2001. Located in Dulwich, the school is non-selective and aims to give pupils aged from 2 to 11 a caring, challenging and inspiring environment where they can develop during their formative years. As one of three schools that Education Development Trust owns (two based in the United Kingdom and one overseas), Oakfield has begun development of its Master Plan with the aim of the school having state of the art facilities and infrastructure to support education delivery.

As a member of the School's Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Head Teacher and Schools Group Lead School Business Manager for the day to day running of the school, contributing to the school's strategic development plan and collaborating with the UK Independent Schools group. The School Business Manager manages a diverse range of activities, and the successful candidate will have experience in managing human resources, procurement, information technology, estate management and health & safety. A key component of the role will be assisting the SLT and School achieve its strategic objective through planning, implementation and assessing.

Previous experience as a School Business Manager, Bursar or similar role is essential. The successful applicant will be someone who takes initiative with a focus on the solution, understands and applies the principles of responsibility and accountability, as well as can demonstrate a strong background in financial management. The candidate will have an accounting qualification or relevant accounting experience which will be reflected in their recent previous roles. In addition, the School Business Manager role requires a collaborative approach to leadership along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will be highly astute and dynamic, innovative and effective at identifying solutions to problems, as well as eradicating them.

The salary will be dependent on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate but will be highly competitive. This is a full-time role with an opportunity to work from home one day a week. We offer 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.
