Job Description

An experienced Business Development Officer is needed for a private healthcare facility to support the management and business development activity of key users of the facility and to ensure its commercial success. This is a permanent role and is based in Maidstone, Kent. The Business Development Officer will be a solid team player who is familiar with the medical and healthcare industry and has direct experience in communicating and working closely with consultants from different specialties.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

Working closely with the BD Manager to achieve revenue budget and increase private revenue in the facility, including the development of new referrals and expanding consultant activity.

Acting as the link between the business development strategy and the sales and marketing teams to ensure the plans are aligned and maximizing the potential of the consultants

Build upon existing relationships with GP's, AHP's and the commercial sector to increase private referrals

Gather marketplace intelligence that promotes the introduction of new initiatives

Analysis of financial and activity-based data to create / influence activity that drives business

Build on local businesses knowledge to promote the services of the facility to raise awareness and referrals for marketing activity, self-pay, PPI & NHS opportunities

Support the Business Development Manager in strategic project work, including background research and data analysis

The successful candidate will have a solid commercial understanding of healthcare and how to apply a commercial focus to developing safe, outstanding care.

Some key skills required for this role include:

Experience of actively working with consultants, GPs and referrers and a good understanding of medical terminology and the specialties

Able to review and understand data reports, specifically where there are trends or adverse results.

Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels, including during difficult or challenging circumstances.

Ability to prioritise and manage own workload amid conflicting demands and busy work periods.

Ability to think ahead and anticipate needs before they arise.
