Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer (Steam)

Circa £42,000 depending on skills and experience + company van

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours a week

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. Would you like to be part of a team who responsible for the safe and sustainable operation and maintenance of our water recycling assets?

What will you be doing?

As a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, you will be providing support and completing both planned and reactive maintenance across our Water Recycling assets; specifically, boilers and steam raising plants. You will improve the performance and efficiency of operational assets and activities across all sites. You will provide technical support to the team and will undertake projects across the region, including, but not limited to, optimisation, installation, and capital intervention.

Duties will include:

Preparing and completing boiler annual inspections including valve servicing and boiler working tests

Providing both technical and specialist support to the boiler operators and the Bioresources wider team

Helping enhance the performance of the Steam Raising Plant / Boiler assets

Electrical fault finding

Ensuring all relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to

Assisting with the reduction of operating costs

Completing and recording all PPM activities

What does it take to be a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Steam)?

A full apprenticeship or a NVQ Level 2/3 in either a mechanical or electrical discipline

Experience of planned preventative maintenance

Operational and maintenance experience in Steam Raising/Boiler Plant

BOAS qualification would be beneficial

Knowledge of Boiler Water Treatment would be advantageous

Proven experience with fault finding and problem solving

Strong awareness of Health and Safety practices

Strong communication skills

Competent user of IT

Flexible approach to work- with the potential for out of hours management standby

Full driving license is essential for this role
