Senior/Principal Hardware/Electrical Engineer Location: Lincoln UK A Snapshot of Your Day We're currently looking to add a Senior/Principal Hardware/Electrical Engineer to our Engineering team at Siemens Energy Gas and Power Services based in Lincoln. Working as part of the Engineering team you will be responsible for the design and development of Turbine and Auxiliary Control Panel hardware and Turbine Package electrical systems for Siemens Energy Gas and Power Services How You'll Make an Impact What are my responsibilities? Developing solutions to replace obsolete equipment/parts to be able to maintain the businesses' fleet of gas turbines To convert these solutions into generic replacement kits/parts for retrofitting Designing/constructing new hardware solutions to replace obsolete Turbine controls system or upgrade current terms Constructing new hardware solutions to replace obsolete auxiliary controls system eg Generator Control Panels: Motor Control Centres: Power within Gas Explosive atmospheres Support sales by supplying detailed quotes for engineering times, potential hardware requirements, possible engineering solutions with regards to customer enquires What You Bring A degree or equivalent professionally accredited or recognised in an engineering subject area preferably relating to the fields of Controls, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, and Software. Working experience with hardware design CAD tools Promise-e and Microstation. Knowledge of change/configuration management tools and processes, as well as experience with other IT related tools and software for business analytics and project management. Working experience of IEC60079 Explosive atmospheres Part 14: Electrical Installation design and selection would be beneficial. Experience of working with gas turbine technology or similar industrial products for Oil & Gas or Energy industry would be advantageous, but experience from other industries with transferrable skills could also be considered. Practitioner of a Systems Engineering approach to product improvement is highly desirable.
