Position : SAP Infrastructure Engineer (BASIS) Location: Swindon and/or London Employment: Freelance/Contract Duration: 6months + Rate: £400-500 per day inside IR35 Start Date: ASAP Languages: English Role Description: As an SAP Infrastructure Engineer/Architect specialized in BASIS, Solman, and SAP Sizing, your responsibility is to enhance SAP system performance and create server capacity models/dashboards. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with senior management and business stakeholders to understand the organization's SAP infrastructure needs. Evaluate the current IT setup and propose improvements for better SAP system performance. Work with various teams to determine server capacity needs for SAP systems. Develop and maintain server capacity models for efficient resource allocation. Monitor SAP system performance and suggest changes based on server capacity analysis. Configure SAP Solution Manager for system monitoring, incident management, and more. Predict future server capacity based on business plans and workload. Monitor SAP infrastructure performance through Dynatrace. Experience Essential: Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure solutions for SAP systems, particularly in SAP Banking Solutions and S/4 HANA. Deep understanding of server infrastructure, storage systems, network design, and virtualization focusing on performance, scalability, availability, and security. Strong SAP administration skills, including configuration, installation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of SAP banking applications. Knowledge of SAP workload types and tools for monitoring performance metrics. Proficiency in SAP sizing reports and tools for estimating hardware requirements. Expertise in SAP systems on IBM DB2 on z/OS and HANA databases, and WebAS on RHEL OS. Additional Skills: Ability to analyze performance data and identify bottlenecks. Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware and LPAR. Certifications in SAP areas such as HANA, BASIS, Solman are advantageous.
