WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for Senior Leaders in Virtual Engineering to join us and lead vehicle or system programmes studies with concept simulation, modelling expertise and tools from early concept phases thru to test validation support.

Working as part of a team of simulation engineers and leaders, this role will provide engineering support to on-going design development.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Manage the development of Automotive Components/Systems using engineering knowledge and experience combined with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques, to meet Safety and/or NVH performance targets
Run CAE analysis, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the component Lead Engineers in an efficient manner.Able to work effectively with design teams to develop and optimise solutions considering multi-attributes within defined deadlines and time constraintsHave some product knowledge and awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutionsCoordinate and lead projects and teams including the feedback of results as required through design / project reviews Support and present at design reviews with key stakeholders: COC component design teams, PAT teams, packaging teams
Work with the Subject Matter Experts (SME's) to ensure project documentation for each project is managed and maintained
Liaise with all internal customers of our business as well as offshore operations where necessary
Support the continual development of tools and techniques which enhance capability, improve quality and robustness of Virtual modelsMentor and train Junior team members and graduatesUndertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

WHAT YOU NEED

Knowledge and experience

Essential:
Working knowledge and experience of CAE methodologiesPrevious experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challengesPrevious experience of Safety and/or NVH component/system level development using CAE to meet defined performance targetsPrevious experience of delivering engineering or analytical projectsCompetent in the use of explicit and/or implicit software and associated pre and post processing packagesOptistruct and/or LS-Dyna/OasysHyperworksMS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
Project and people management skills.Experience in proposing product modifications to improve designsRelevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
Desirable:
Experience in working practices relating to CAE methods and processesCompetent in the use of:Catia v6 (mainly for CAD part viewing and interrogation)Experience of working within Agile procedures and guidelines
